Announcing our new podcast, “Celebrate & Chill!”
Andy Warhol once said in the future, everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes. With social media, that future has already come and gone, but if he were around today, Warhol might have revised his dictum to: in the future, everyone will have their own podcast.
So yes, this is an announcement, that PopUP CleanUP’s Kenetia Lee will be launching her podcast, Celebrate & Chill, as a place where event professionals come to celebrate their craft, gain fresh insights, and elevate their impact. Each episode will explore the art, business, and behind-the-scenes magic of creating unforgettable experiences. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, you’ll walk away with ideas, strategies and inspiration to level up your events—and maybe even your life.
Some episodes will feature Kenetia solo, discussing her experiences with cleaning mishaps and budge blunders, navigating unrealistic expectations from the client with grace, and how she stumbled into the events industry from a background as a red carpet makeup artist. Other episodes will feature interviews with event professionals and producers.
The janitor Carl in THE BREAKFAST CLUB refers to himself as the “eyes and ears of this institution,” and truly, as event cleaning professionals, we often see the inner workings of event production and management and are on the front lines of resolution when things go awry. From broken toilet pipes and sewer mishaps to overflowing trash from producers not providing enough dumpster space to undercounting the number of expected guests, we often feel the brunt of event production errors first. Now we get to uncover what it’s like on the producer’s end when they are sandwiched in between client and vendors, reined in by budgets and all the while trying to create a spectacular experience that will leave guests wanting to come back and wanting more.
