Our Uniform Options

PopUP CleanUP offers a variety of different uniform options to match the tenor and needs of your event. From button down shirts to branded vests and polos, we can provide formality or visibility. While some events, like awards shows and black tie galas, may benefit from black button down attire, for most events, visibility helps both the client and the guests find crew members when assistance is needed and see who our crew members are and that they are at work. Regardless of uniform, all of our cleaners wear closed-toed non-slip shoes.

Here are the options available for your event:

  1. Black pants coupled with a black branded PopUP CleanUP polo top — this is perfect for indoor and smaller outdoor events, particularly branded activations, gallery and indoor auto shows, indoor concerts, and informal private parties.

For some indoor events where visibility isn’t as essential or is unwelcome, our cleaners wearing black non-branded polos with black pants. If our client is doing an activation for a clothing or shoe brand, such as Nike, they may often ask that we not wear competing brands which we do our very best to accommodate.

For some branding activations, the client will ask that our cleaners wear client-branded t-shirts which they will provide to our cleaners. We are happy to accommodate this request, but do not recommend it. We have seen that this creates confusion distinguishing between cleaning crew versus event crew versus catering. Our uniforms communicate clearly who we are and what we are there to do which makes us easy to see and find when needed for spills, restroom restocking issues, or other immediate cleaning needs.

2. Black or white shirt with black or khaki pants and orange reflective branded PopUP CleanUP vest—this is the preferred uniform for outdoor events such as sporting competitions, food festivals, larger outdoor concerts and auto shows, block parties, and political rallies.

On hot days, we recommend the cleaners wear white shirts with khaki pants and be permitted to wear a non-branded hat. During more temperate times, we tell our cleaners to wear all black short or long sleeve with black pants. The bring colors of the vest including the reflective tape allow for high visibility of our staff both during the day and after sunset.

3. Black button down shirt with black pants — for formal gatherings such as awards shows, fashion galas, fundraising dinners, high end branding activations, and private parties, an all-black button down look gives a look of professionalism. While our staff is less visible, it also makes us less conspicuous and may be more appropriate for a crowd wearing couture, cocktail, or black-tie dress.

Let us know when you are booking what your uniform requirements are and we will do our best to accommodate your requests. However, your request must be in compliance with California law which states that employers must provide and pay for uniforms, including those with distinctive designs or colors, if they are a condition of employment.  This is not true if the uniform is a basic wardrobe piece that the employee can wear outside of employment including black or khaki pants, jeans, a black or white polo or t-shirt.
