If you’re in the event industry in Los Angeles, then you should be a member of fêteLA. Described as “the premier networking group for event professionals working in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas,” fêteLA has no membership or event registration fees but puts on both virtual and live networking events so that event professionals can connect. The organization also offers resources for people in the industry including Los Angeles protocols, CDC and WHO guidelines, and links to SBA loan and grant assistance.
During non-Covid times, fêteLA put on lots of events of its own. (Because how seriously could you take an event networking organization if they didn’t put on events themselves?) Past events have occurred at the Hollywood Bowl, The Federal, Greenbar Distillery and The Jeremy. Members include caterers, swag printers, planners and producers, magicians, DJs, lighting designers, florists, marketers and cleaning specialists. If you want to get involved in the industry in LA, this is one of the places to be.
Most recently, during a blip between case surges, fêteLA put on a networking event at SoFi Stadium where they offered up the standard event fare: DJ’ed music, a triumvirate of pastry, taco, and cocktail bars, games ranging from Street Fighter to foozball, and coolest yet, a tour of the stadium itself replete with visits to the Rams and Chargers locker rooms and a romp on the field. They even offered the opportunity to kick a field goal. Spoiler alert: it’s really hard. At least, that’s what I’m told. I passed because I wanted to be able to walk the next day.
