‘Tis the season for holiday parties. Or at least, it will be soon. From fall gatherings to New Year’s Eve, the last few months of the year give us plenty of reasons to celebrate. Here’s a quick list of holiday parties to put on your radar so you can start planning every detail:
Halloween Parties
Nothing’s too creepy or off limits when it comes to throwing the best Halloween party. From finger foods (or foods that look like fingers?) to potion-like punch, spiderwebs and candles, ghostly figures and scream-worthy images, you’re only limited by your own imagination.
It’s worth noting that Halloween parties tend to be the messiest. From pumpkin goo to fake blood to bobbing for apples, make sure you have a sturdy cleanup plan in place.
Thanksgiving Dinners
Whether you’re hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for a family of 20 or a Friendsgiving with all your closest friends, the turkey won’t be the only thing stuffed when it’s all said and done!
Aside from planning a gourmet menu, you’ll also need to think about place settings, centerpieces, wine pairings, and how to keep everyone out of the kitchen while you work your magic. Football and cornhole, anyone?
Holiday Office Parties
Office parties don’t have to be the same tired event year after year (even though it’s usually cheaper to dust off last year’s decorations than it is to get creative). Remember, the whole point of an office party is to get staff engaged and thank them for the year’s work, so have some fun with it. Make it a themed party, have a contest, do a gift exchange, and put people in the holiday spirit!
And if you’re worried about going over budget, you can actually save on some supplies by buying it direct from your cleaning company.
Christmas Get-Togethers
Most people spend more time getting their homes holiday-ready than they do actually hosting guests. Still, nothing compares with a warmly decorated home for holiday parties, complete with stockings by the fireplace, the smell of fresh pine boughs, mistletoe, and thousands of twinkling lights.
New Year’s Eve Bashes
New Year’s Eve parties are better with a theme: Gatsby-style flapper parties, black and white balls, glitter galas, decade parties, and even foam celebrations with lots of champagne or glow in the dark dances. There’s no wrong way to ring in the New Year.
